Latest Elton John News:
On November 28, 1974, Elton was joined on stage at Madison Square Garden in New York City by a surprise guest after a bet that John Lennon and Elton John made: if Lennon’s ‘Whatever Gets You Thru The Night’ (which Elton played and sang on) reached #1 in the US charts, John Lennon would join Elton on stage. It did, and he did. It would be John Lennon’s last concert appearance.

Would love to be able to see the whole song being performed and not so choppy.
All the other stuff that they filmed. They didn’t think to film this? Duh
I was there and I'll never forget it!!! It was the only time I saw Lennon and it was priceless!
Thanks, Elton, for getting John and Yoko back together again, dick.
I don't think John would've come out, he was terrified.
When I was two years
Love you Elton & John
My dad got my name after them
Still hard to believe Elton didn't have this video'd himself. Someone said it was a union thing. He should have said screw the union. This is history.
That's it? That is the sole footage? How was this not documented.
Just read the lyrics. *sigh
how is it even possible that no other footage exits what a shame
Here is more footage… https://youtu.be/A9x6dLsAOaQ?list=RD4fFfbp_5qlg
very rare historic footage, this is what i love about youtube
Amazing stuff, thank you.
The uproar of the audience….wow!
Wow just wow……
Still have the ticket stubs from that show…
I know two people there: mom and I
please upload the whole song!!!!
Is there any chance that you can upload the whole performance??
I have a bootleg LP of this…all the songs John came out and performed…including the one and only time he ever performed a Paul McCartney song live- I Saw Her Standing There…Also, this performance only happened because John lost a bet with Elton that the song would reach number 1 on the charts- John didn't think it would and Elton did. Elton politely told John he didn't have to perform but John said he lost the bet so he would make good…turned out to be the last live performance John ever gave I believe…
Thank you for sharing
November 28, 1974.
Was at that show. The roar that went up from the crowd was amazing. You can hear it all on the reissue of EJ's "Here and There" live album.
Definetely…We Miss you So Much Johnny. So Sad that there is not images and more videos of this, No Doubts that concert was pure Gold from head to toe.
awwwww Jhon Lennon !!! amazed ..;)
lástima solo un minuto
i want to see the video
That's great ! Congratulations for the efforts for us to see those few but very, very rare images. John Lennon forever!
coitus interuptus??? WTF
and on my birthday!
It is to bad they didn't record video for the whole set!!
It would not have taken much for Elton to capture the magic on film. Surprised that no one bothered to film but these 15 seconds.
What this doesn't mention is that John was there because Elton had bet him that "Whatever Gets You Through the Night" would hit #1. The bet was that John would join him on stage to play the song if it did. This moment was the result. It was also John's last live concert performance.
I've heard this so many times on a record somewhere, it's even in my ipod (which is loaded only with cd's) but never got to SEE it. Thank You, wish I could have been there
Man, I would of given my left nut to have been there..
